Economy Vent System

Reliable ventilation doesn’t have to be complicated. Charley’s Economy Vent System is a simple, plug-in solution for cooling small to mid-sized greenhouses. It comes prewired and ready to go, just mount the fan and intake shutter, plug it in, and set the water-resistant thermostat to your desired max temperature. On hot days, the fan will automatically kick on to push out hot air, helping protect your plants from overheating.

If you're building a DIY greenhouse and plan to run electricity, this system is an affordable way to automate your airflow without the complexity of hard-wiring. Each system includes an exhaust fan with power cord, an intake shutter, and a prewired thermostat for simple installation. To fine-tune airflow across the seasons, add the optional plug-in Fan Speed Control (sold separately).

How This System Compares

The Economy Vent System is designed for simplicity and ease of use. Compared to our hard-wired Powered Ventilation System, this option is plug-in ready and ideal for growers with moderate airflow needs. However, the intake shutters in this system are not motorized, they are installed with the vane facing outside and open passively.

If your greenhouse doesn’t have electricity, consider the Snap Fan Solar Exhaust System instead. It runs entirely on solar power and is a great solution for off-grid growing. If you want automated shutters that open and close based on thermostat control to bring in the most airflow, the Powered Ventilation System is your best choice.
